An exhibition by coconogacco students of the class of 2021 will be held from April 16, 2022 (Sat) to April 24, 2022 (Sun) in the form of an installation utilizing the unique spaces scattered throughout the city of Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture.
Last year, coconogacco won the “Mainichi Fashion Grand Prix Amiko Kujiraoka Award”. We believe that this award was given in recognition of the fact that many of the students who studied at coconogacco are now active as designers and artists.
Fujiyoshida City in Yamanashi Prefecture has long flourished as a town of textile craftsmen, and even today it is one of the most important production centers in the world as a region where highly skilled and unique craftsmen gather. This exhibition is an attempt to connect designers to the future by making Fujiyoshida a rich place for designers to present their work, and to bring designers and the manufacturing industry closer than ever before in the closest production center from Tokyo. The students of this course are also artists who will be active in Japan and abroad in the future.
We hope that you will feel the budding of new creations from
coconogacco, along with the charm of Fujiyoshida, an old town where time flows differently from the city in the warm spring.
We hope you will come and enjoy the exhibition.
