Kenji Kawasumi

Born in 1985, Yamanashi.
Originally from Japan he moved to London to study at Central Saint Martins, where he graduated from Bachelor of Arts Fashion knitwear in 2010. During his studies he completed internship at Hussein Chalayan. Kawasumi went on to do a master's degree under the late Professor Louise Wilson OBE completing the fashion course at the university. He presented his MA collection at London Fashion Week 2012. He participated in Arnhem Mode Biennale 2013, Fashion Scout exhibition SS17 in London, and won the prize at
Tokyo Design Week fashion 2015. He has worked for a knitwear company that undertakes work for Celine and Stella McCartney, as well as menswear design for independent brands in London. After he moved to Japan, he gained experience under Yoshiki Hishinuma and Yoshikazu Yamagata. He is currently working on fashion and product design for venture companies, and regularly guest lectures in colleges in Tokyo.
